A number of Attleboro boys and girls teams were in action in several tournaments over the past two weekends with strong showings across the board from all grades.
Heading into the Thanksgiving weekend, teams competed in the Sharon Holiday Tournament at Mass Premier Courts and the Hopkinton Tap Off Tournament.
At Mass Premier Courts, the boys 8th grade White (Martinelli) went 3-1 on the weekend to take home the Silver division crown, while the boys 8 Blue (Pearlstein) went 4-1 but lost in the title game in the Platinum division. Boys 7th Blue (Henry) went 2-2, winning two games by a point, losing one game by a point, and losing another to the eventual champion by 3 points in 4 very competitive games. Boys 6 White (Manley) lost in the Bronze semifinals, and Boys 5 White (Logan) had a strong tourney, making a run at the title but losing in the championship game. Meanwhile, the boys 5th grade Blue team (Crowley) went 3-0 in the Hopkington Tap Off tournament.
This past weekend more teams competed at the Mansfield Thanksgiving Tournament and the New England Exposure Turkey Classic at Stonehill College. In Mansfield, the boys 4th grade Blue team (Houle) had a strong start to their Metrowest careers, winning 3 out of 3 games including a thrilling double overtime barnburner in their last game vs. Brookline. The Boys 6th Blue debuted under new coach Paul Pasquarose and went 2-1 on the weekend, with their only loss a close 2 point affair to Westwood.
Meanwhile, the defending state champion girls 6th Blue faced strong bevy of top competitions at Stonehill, going 2-2 against some of the best teams in Massachusetts.
